About Us

Here's a slightly longwinded bio for my short career:

Nathan Ripley is the pen name of Naben Ruthnum, a Toronto-based writer.

In 2017, as Naben Ruthnum, I wrote a slim book called Curry: Eating, Reading, and Race for Coach House Books. The book wasn't just about this incredibly varied dish the subcontinent is perhaps best known for, but about literature, South Asian identity in the West, and complaints about my writing life, of course.

My first thriller, Find You In The Dark, will be published in North America by Atria / Simon and Schuster and in the UK by Text Publishing in 2018. I've been working on this book for a few years, and am very happy to finally have it out in the world. Now that it's out there, I'm working on another thriller and also doing some screenwriting work. Find You In The Dark has been optioned for television development by eOne, so I'm working on that just now along with a couple of other projects with some of the collaborators who keep me sane and working.
